Verdict: The US Airways Premier World MasterCard with Dividend Miles Select allows cardholders to build up airline miles as quickly as any card on the market. That’s because of the generous bonus mileage program that the card offers to new members. New cardholders have the opportunity to earn up to 35,000 bonus miles within the first 90 days that htey own their cards.

Overview: Like most airline credit cards, the US Airways Premier World MasterCard allows holders to bank airline miles with each purchase they make. This card, though, comes with some added perks: Cardholders earn more miles whenever they purchase US Airways tickets or products. They’ll also be able to check in with first-class flyers, no matter what kind of ticket they purchased.

How This Card Works: Cardholders can rack up as many airline miles as they want with the US Airways Premier World MasterCard. That’s because there are no caps and the miles never expire. The card’s due date is scheduled at least 23 days after the close of the billing cycle. Cardholders must use their miles on US Airways flights.

Travel and Shopping Benefits: Cardholders earn 12,500 bonus miles immediately after their first purchase with the US Airways Premier World MasterCard. They will earn an additional 12,500 bonus miles if they make $750 worth of purchases on their cards within the first 90 days of owning it. Finally, those consumers who complete a balance transfer to the new card within the first 30 days will earn 10,000 more bonus miles. Cardholders who do all three, then, will earn 35,000 bonus miles within the first three months of owning their new credit card.

Cardholders can cash in their miles for a free airfare after earning at least 20,000 of them. They’ll earn two air miles for every dollar they charge for US Airways airline tickets or products. They’ll also earn one mile for every dollar they charge on other purchases.

By taking out the US Airways card, cardholders also earn 10,000 miles toward Dividend Miles Preferred status with the airline. This program allows members to redeem their airline miles at a discount. For instance, those with a 5,000-mile discount will be able to redeem 20,000 miles to qualify for a flight that would normally require 25,000 miles.

Fees: The card comes with an annual fee of $89 and an interest rate of 15.24 percent or 18.24 percent depending on applicants’ creditworthiness. Penalty fees for late and returned payments run $35, while cash advances cost $10 or 3 percent of the amount of the advancement, whichever is higher.

  • Up to 35,000 bonus miles in first 90 days.
  • Solid interest rate of 15.24 percent depending on creditworthiness.
  • 10,000 miles earned toward Dividend Miles Preferred status.
