Verdict: The Express credit card is good only at Express stores and earns one point for every dollar spent, redeemable for $10 Express gift cards for every 250 points earned. The rewards are good as long as you don’t carry a balance on the card because the APR is a very high 22.8%.

Overview:
The Express credit card is good at Express stores and express.com. You earn points for every dollar you spend, which will be automatically redeemed for Express gift cards. When you’ve spent at least 500 dollars, you’ll be upgraded and receive better rewards.

How This Card Works:
This card is good at all Express stores and online and earns one point per dollar spent. Every time you spend 250 points you’ll receive a $10 Express gift card. When you’ve spent at least $500 you’ll be upgraded to the Express A-Plus program, earning you $15 per 250 points instead. You also receive a $10 Express credit on your birthday (or $15 if you’re in the A-Plus club).

Travel and Shopping Benefits:
You earn 1 point per dollar spent with your Express card. You’ll receive a $10 Express reward for every 250 points you earn, along with $10 on your birthday. When you spend 500 points, you’ll automatically be upgraded to the Express A-List, earning you $15 on Express rewards and Birthday offers. There are also special events throughout the year, during which you’ll re
ceive extra points. You earn 50 bonus points when you sign up to manage your account online.

Fees:
The APR for the Express credit card is 22.8%. Your rate will never go below 22.8%, nor will it ever rise above 24.99%. The grace period is 25 days. There is no late fee if your balance is below $20, but it will be $20 if your balance is between $20 and $249.99, and $25 if your balance is above $250.
