The Verdict: CreditShout usually advises consumers to skip credit cards associated with department stores and other retailers. Too often, the benefits that come with these cards are heavily outweighed by purchase interest rates that are simply far too high. Does the Cache’ Visa Credit Card avoid this trap? That depends. If you have strong credit, and you’re a fan of Cache’, then this might prove to be a solid addition to your wallet. If your credit isn’t the best, though? Be prepared for a sky-high interest rate.

Overview: The Cache’ Visa card is a rewards card, meaning that you’ll earn rewards points with every purchase you make. You’ll earn more points when you shop at Cache’ and Cache’ Luxe, less with all other purchases. This means that this card is only a good choice if you spend a lot each year at Cache’.

How This Card Works: When you earn enough points, you can turn them into a Cache’ gift card. This is another reason why this card only makes sense if you’re a frequent Cache’ shopper. If you’re not, you’ll do better searching for a rewards card that is unaffiliated with any specific retailer.

Travel and Shopping Benefits: You’ll earn five rewards points for every dollar that you charge at Cache’ and Cache’ Luxe. You’ll earn one point for every dollar that you charge at all other locations. Once you’ve earned 2,500 point, you can redeem your rewards for a $25 Cache’ gift card good toward all purhcases at Cache’ and Cache’ Luxe.

Fees: If you have strong credit, your Cache’ Visa card will come with a solid purchase interest rate as low as 11.24 percent. However, that rate can jump to 23.24 percent if your credit suffers dings. Such a high interest rate can add up to huge interest charges if you don’t pay your credit-card bill in full each month.

Other fees are standard: Cash advances cost $10 or 3 percent of the advance amount, whichever figure is higher. Late and returned-payment fees an run up to $35. There is no annual fee with this card.

Pros

  • Low interest rate if you have good credit.
  • No annual fee.
  • Five rewards points for every dollar you charge at Cache’.

Cons

  • Fewer rewards points when you charge at other locations.
  • Interest rate will soar if your credit is weak.
  • Rewards program is not flexible.
