Are you on the road (or in the air) for work or for your business a lot? Want a credit card that will reward you with cash back for every trip you take, plus perks and benefits to make your trips more comfortable and convenient? (And possibly even less expensive, too?)

Rental car insurance is a basic feature on most rewards credit cards. But there are also credit cards available that offer complimentary entry into airport lounges, free baggage check with certain airlines, companion airline tickets, and other money-saving features. If security and protection is most important to you when you travel, you can get travel insurance, trip cancellation insurance, lost baggage insurance, and 24/7 emergency services (legal, medical, other emergency).

For a business owner or someone who is on the road often for their job, these benefits and rewards can save money, offer peace of mind when you travel, and help your trips go more smoothly.

Our picks for the top cards for business travelers?

American Express Gold Delta SkyMiles Business Card
The American Express Gold Delta SkyMiles business credit card made our list for the top credit cards for startup businesses, behind Chase Ink and Discover More. But it tops the list for credit cards for business travelers.

Our favorite features? The generous rewards program, which lets you cash in points for Delta airline tickets or 15 other travel partners, no blackout dates, free bonus points for signing up, $99 companion air tickets, and free checked baggage through Delta airlines.

The card offers 20,000 bonus miles after your first purchase, and 5,000 miles if you add two additional Cardmembers, making it the perfect card for a business with several frequent travelers. There is a $95 annual fee, waived the first year.

Escape by Discover
Ranked the number one travel rewards card by CreditShout.com, there’s no reason you can’t use the Escape by Discover card for your business.

Escape by Discover doesn’t limit you as far as what airline you can fly on, although you will earn bonus points (4X miles) when you book travel through ShopDiscover.com. Normally, you get 2 miles for every $1 you spend. You can also use your miles for gift certificates, merchandise, car rentals, hotel accommodations and more.

Additional travel benefits include:

  • Trip cancellation insurance (up to $2,500)
  • primary car rental insurance (up to $50K with no deductible)
  • lost or damaged luggage insurance (up to $2500)
  • travel delay insurance (up to $150 per day)

The card has a low annual fee of $60, and a 0% introductory APR for six months.

Capital One Venture Rewards Card
If you frequently travel internationally for business, the CapitalOne Venture Rewards Visa card may be your best pick for a business travel credit card. Visa is more widely accepted than Discover or American Express across the world, and CapitalOne is the only credit card issuer with no foreign transaction fees.
You will earn two miles per dollar on every purchase, plus 10,000 bonus miles when you spend $1,000 in your first three months. CapitalOne is known for its policy of no blackout dates, the ability to fly on any airline, no limit to the miles you can earn, and miles that don’t expire.
What really sets this card apart is Visa Signature benefits, such as complimentary concierge service and available travel upgrades. The annual fee of $59 is waived the first year.
If you’d prefer to sacrifice a few benefits in favor of no annual fee, look into the Capital One VentureOne Rewards card, instead.

Miles by Discover
Looking for a great Discover travel card with no annual fee and a generous rewards structure? Miles by Discover is another great pick. While Miles by Discover isn’t a business card, it does offer great benefits and rewards for business travel.

Earn one mile for every dollar you spend, plus 1,000 miles each month you make a purchase in the first year, for a total of 12,000 bonus miles. As with CapitalOne’s offerings, there’s no limit on the miles you earn and miles don’t expire. You can fly any airline and book any hotel or rental car with no blackout dates.

There’s no annual fee and no over-the-limit fee, plus you enjoy a 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for 6 months.
