Q: I’ve earned a lot of points with my Chase Ink Bold card from the holidays. How can I redeem these points?
A: It’s easy to redeem your Ink Bold points. All you have to do is log in to the Chase Ultimate Rewards site, which can be found here. Use your Chase user ID and password.
Once you are on the site, you can browse the different rewards such as cash back, gift cards, travel (including plane ticket, hotel, and car rental), and “experiences,” which are exactly that: incredible experiences including a DJ lesson, a wine pairing class, a scuba diving lesson, and quite a few other things.
Under the experiences section, there is a choice between either redeeming the item now, or participating in an auction. Just select the tab “Auction Only” if you prefer to bid on your item rather than redeeming it at a fixed point value. Both options allow you to use your points, though you also have the option of buying an experience with cash.
Your points never expire, so if you can’t afford anything you really want yet (or that your business really needs), just let them build up for a while. If you are close to a certain reward and just can’t wait, you can redeem your points and pay the rest with your Chase card. Travel offers double points, so if you have a meeting halfway across the country, you’re one step closer to a free ticket for your next plane trip.
You can also transfer points between cards, which can come in handy. Just select the “Manage Ultimate Rewards” tab on the Ultimate Rewards site. Click “Combine Points” and select the cards you want to transfer points to and from.
That’s about all there is to it. Redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards is pretty self-explanatory. Just browse around the site for a little while until you find what you’re looking for, add it to your cart, and check out when you’re ready. With experiences, make sure to print out the voucher and bring it with you to redeem it.
