They can be, if you use the credit card that offers them enough to build them fairly quickly. If you use a credit card that offers rewards points strictly as a business credit card, for instance if you are self-employed or run a small business, or if you are eligible to use the rewards points built on a company or employer credit card, then you can build the points very quickly and start taking advantage of them almost immediately.

Rewards points are given as an incentive to use the credit card more often. As long as you continue to monitor your spending and make your payments on time, this is fine, because the rewards offered can sometimes be very lucrative. This can be especially welcome during the holiday season.

The best thing to do is to compare the rewards program details of several credit cards that offer rewards points. Look for such things as how easy it is to earn and redeem points and the types of rewards offered. Don’t forget, however, to compare interest rates and overall terms and conditions also.
