How To Add A Card To PayPal
Step 1. First, you’ll need to log in to your PayPal account.Once you’re logged in, click on the “Profile” link on the homepage and select “Update Card” from the menu.
Step 2. Click on the “Add A Card” button on the “Debit and Credit Cards” screen to link your Visa card to your PayPal account.When the “Add Debit or Credit Card” screen loads, open the “Card Type” drop-down menu and select “Visa” to reveal the data-entry fields for your card information.Enter your card number, expiration date, and the three-digit verification number from the back of the card.
Step 3. Verify that your card’s billing address matches the home address for your PayPal account. If it differs, click on the “Enter a new address as Billing Address” radio button and enter your information in the input fields that appear below it.Click on the “Add Card” button to complete the process. PayPal confirms that your card has been added to your account.
How To Verify Your Card
Step 1. First, sign in to your PayPal account. You’ll want to locate the “Profile” link on your homepage and select “My Money” from the drop-down menu.In your “My Profile” list of your financial sources, you will need to find the card you added to your account prior. Next, click on the “Update” link next to the listing to load the “Debit and Credit Cards” screen for your card.
Step 2. Click on the “Confirm My Card” and “Continue” links, or “Link and Confirm My Card” and then the “Save and Continue” links, whichever appear on the listing for the card you added. PayPal will charge your card $1.95 within a few days, this is part of their security verification process.
Step 3. Find the PayPal charge on your Visa statement, along with the four-digit code that appears with it. Log in to your PayPal account as soon as you find this information, either on a printed or online statement.Click on the “Profile” link and choose “My Money.”
Step 4. Locate the card you added in the “My Profile” list of financial sources and click on the “Update” link. When the account screen loads, click on the “Enter PayPal Code” link and type in the code from your Visa card statement.Click on the “Confirm Code” button to complete the process.

If you’re worried about PayPal using your other cards, they usually draw from your PayPal balance first.Plus, they give you the opportunity to choose which method of payment you want to use.
When you confirm your card and finish the verification process, PayPal will refund your $1.95 that was charged earlier.
If you happen to lose your card verification code, you’ll need to login to your PayPal account and request a new code.You can do this by selecting the “Confirm My Debit Or Credit Card” link.
PayPal will give you up to 3 opportunities to verify your card.If you don’t have success after 3 times, you won’t be able to use your card with PayPal. You’ll then have to contact customer service to add the card back to your account.Once that is done, you can request a new code.
