Your job as a savvy shopper is to save as much money as possible, and our job is to find you deals like this one.

With the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card from Chase you’ll earn enough rewards points to qualify for a free flight from Southwest Airlines after your first purchase, thats worth over $400 in Wanna Get Away® Fares.

How It Works:

The first time you use your new Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Plus credit card, you’ll earn 25,000 bonus rewards points. You can then cash these points in and convert them into free tickets with Southwest Airlines.

The best news is that there’s no rush to convert these points. Rewards points with this card never expire. The only catch — and it’s a small one — is that you have to use your credit card at least once every two years.

Other Rewards:

Outside of the bonus points offer, the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Plus card is a fairly standard rewards credit card.

You’ll earn one rewards point for every dollar that you charge with this card and two rewards points for every dollar that you charge on Southwest flights, stays at partner hotels or or rentals from partner car-rental agencies.

At the anniversary of your sign-up, you’ll receive 3,000 bonus points. This happens every year, and is a nice bonus.

Not All Rosy:

Of course, no credit card is perfect. That holds true with this card, too.

The Southwest Airlines card does come with an annual fee of $69. Whether this fee is worth the rewards depends on how often you fly and on how much you charge on your credit card each year. If you spend enough to earn free airfare on a regular basis, you’ll more than make up the cost of the annual fee.

The card also comes with a fairly standard purchase interest rate. It doesn’t come with a low-interest-rate introductory offer on either new purchases or balance transfers. That’s a bit of an anomaly today, when many credit cards are offering low teaser rates for new customers.

Even with the annual fee factored in, this is a great way to easily nab hundreds of dollars in free airfare.
