Consumers still flock to the online home of Priceline to save money on hotels, airline flights, rental cars and vacation packages. But Priceline also offers its own credit card, the Priceline Rewards Visa Card. And, not surprisingly given that so many credit issuers are offering similar deals, this card comes with a generous offer of bonus points for new applicants.

If you sign up for the Priceline Rewards Visa Card from Priceline’s home page, you’ll instantly be credited with 5,000 rewards points once you make your first purchase with the card. These points will be credited to your card account. You can then use these points to pay for anything that you buy with your card.

It’s a nice offer. But be aware that the Priceline Rewards Visa Card does not come free. This offer is only available to cardholders who pay an annual fee of $29.

The card does come with a multi-tiered rewards program. You’ll earn four rewards points every time you use your card to complete a transaction through the Priceline Name Your Own Price purchase program. You’ll receive three points on all other eligible Priceline purchases. You can also earn two points for every dollar you charge in a special category that you choose. If you spend a lot in groceries each month, you can charge that category. It you’re a home improvement buff, you can choose that category.

Finally, you’ll receive one rewards point for every dollar that you charge on all other purchases.
