Planning to take a long-planned vacation to China any time soon? Then the China Airlines MasterCard might be a valuable credit card to have in your wallet. You can earn up to 12,500 bonus air miles if you own the annual-fee version of this credit card.

You’ll earn 7,000 bonus miles when you make your first purchase with the China Airlines MasterCard. You’ll also receive 5,000 bonus miles if you transfer the balance from an existing credit card to your new China Airlines card. That adds up to a healthy bonus offer of 12,500 free miles.

The card offers a two-tiered rewards program: You’ll earn two free miles with every dollar that you charge for China Airlines travel. You’ll earn one mile for every dollar that you charge on all other purchases. You will have to pay an annual fee, though; the China Airlines MasterCard charges an annual fee of $59.

The downside to this card? If your credit score is low, you’ll be stuck with a purchase interest rate that is as high as 24.99 percent. If your credit score is high, though, your purchase interest rate can be as low as 15.99 percent. Just be careful to pay your bill on time; the card’s penalty interest rate can reach as high as 30.24 percent.

The card does come with an introductory interest rate of 0 percent, though, on all balance transfers. This introductory rate will remain for the first six billing cycles after you open your account.
