Most secured credit cards come with little to no perks. After all, these cards are designed for consumers with low credit scores who are struggling to qualify for more traditional credit cards. Credit card companies usually reserve their perks for those consumers who have shown that they are good credit risks. The AeroMexico Visa Secured Card, though, is an exception.

Consumers who sign up with this card will receive 10,000 bonus airfare miles that they can redeem for free flights on AeroMexico, the largest airline serving Mexico. New cardholders will also receive a free companion ticket. Consumers will just have to either use their card to make an initial purchase to receive their bonus miles.

The AeroMexico Visa Secured Card is unusual in that its perks don’t stop there. Cardholders earn one free mile for every dollar that they charge with this card. They also receive a free companion ticket worth $99 every time they renew their account.

By holding this card, members will also receive an automatic discount of 10 percent on all AeroMexico airfare purchases. As consumers who have had to take out secured credit cards — in which their credit limit is set by the amount of money they have deposited into a savings account with the same financial institution that has issued their card — know, perks are few and far between with most.

This card, though, is not free. Though the annual fee is waived for the first year after cardholders open their accounts, it will jump to $25 every year thereafter.
