Yes, the Executive Club Visa Signature card from British Airways gives consumers the chance to earn 100,000 free airline miles depending on how many purchases they make with their card. It’s another example of how competitive credit card issuers — not to mention airlines — are today.

With the national economy still stagnant, despite some signs of a recovery, credit card companies are competing heavily for any business that they can get. That means lots of valuable perks for consumers.

The British Airways Deal: The British Airways deal is a fairly simple one. You’ll earn 50,000 free frequent-flier miles after you make your first purchase with the Executive Club Visa Signature card. If you charge $2,500 during the first 90 days after activating your account, you’ll earn another 50,000 miles.

For the math-impaired, that adds up to a quick 100,000 frequent-flier miles.

Where You Can Fly: In even better news, British Airways has a partnership with American Airlines. This means that you can fly to your pick of destinations.

For instance, you can turn your British Airways Executive Club miles into tickets for destinations within North America. Each ticket to these spots cost 25,000 miles. This means that you can turn your 100,000 frequent-flier miles into four domestic airline tickets. You can also turn them into four tickets to destinations in either Canada or Mexico.

If you want to fly to the Caribbean or Hawaii, you’ll need to spend 35,000 miles for a coach ticket. With the Executive Club’s 100,000 miles, then, you’d have almost enough — you’ll be a bit short — to nab three tickets to destinations in these sunny climes.

The Card: The Executive Club Visa Signature credit card comes with some additional perks, too. First, it’s a rewards card. You’ll receive 1.25 miles for every dollar that you charge on most purchases. You’ll earn 2.5 miles for every dollar that you charge on British Airways purchases. If you charge at least $30,000 in a calender year, the Executive Club Signature card will provide you with a Travel Together Ticket voucher. This voucher will allow you to to take a companion on a free flight from the United States.

The card, though, does come with one drawback: It’s not free. You’ll have to pay an annual fee of $95.

If you’re a frequent traveler, though, the miles benefits that come with this card should easily cover this yearly fee.
