Earn 1,000 Bonus Miles by Using Delta SkyMiles Mobile App

If you’re like most busy professionals, you rarely go anywhere without your smart phone. That’s good news: At least one airline is rewarding those consumers who use these mobile phones to check in to their flights.
Delta is passing out 1,000 bonus airline miles for Delta SkyMiles members who download the airline’s app to their mobile phones and then use it to check into their flights.
But you’ll have to act quickly to take advantage of this offer: It expires after Sept. 7 of this year.
The Basics
According to the Web page of the Delta SkyMiles program, the Delta app allows you to check into your flight before you reach the airport. The app then displays your boarding pass on your mobile phone’s screen.
This is quite convenient. You won’t have to wait in line for a service rep once you get to the airport. And you can also avoid any lines at the automated check-in machines that Delta operates in most major airports.
The Delta app allows you to store your boarding pass on your phone as if it was a simple picture. This way, you can show the image to airport personnel as you work your way through airport security. You can also show the image to airline attendants when you arrive at your boarding gate.
A Valuable Offer
Of course, convenience is one thing. Earning extra miles is even more valuable. Every time you use your Delta app to check in through your mobile phone, you’ll earn 1,000 bonus airline miles. You can earn these extra miles from now through Sept. 7, just in time for the busy summer travel season.
To participate in this offer, you must be a member of Delta SkyMiles, the airline’s frequent flyer program.
You can sign up for SkyMiles right from Delta’s official site.
