As I discussed on the podcast, I think some of the best all around cards are the American Express Gold Card with its 4X points on restaurants and 3X on Groceries. 

Additionally, there is a no fee card the American Express Everyday card that provides 1.5% on all purchases if you use your card at least 20 times in a month.  

I also recommend either the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Freedom Card.
