Although just about anyone in the world can use Twitter, your business must be located in the United States. For most of you, that won’t be a problem. However, there are some people who live in the US and own businesses abroad who wouldn’t qualify for this program.
For those who don’t have an American Express card, you’ll still get a crack at this new program. However, you’ll have to wait until the offer becomes available to the general public, which is scheduled to happen later in 2012.
The first 10,000 American Express customers that register in this program will receive $100 in complimentary advertising. If you were the CEO of a large, multinational firm, that $100 wouldn’t get you much. However, with the limited resources that most small businesses must work with, $100 can be a great boost to your advertising budget.

Advertising on Twitter could be an excellent boost to your business. You’ll be able to engage your current customers and market to plenty of potential prospects.
Of course, how effective a Twitter advertising campaign will be depends on the size of your business and the markets that it serves. A dry-cleaner in Atlanta won’t have much success marketing to Twitter users in Seattle. However, if you own an online-business or another type of business that can pick up customers across a widespread area, then this could work well for you.
