Verdict: If you fill up at Sunoco frequently, this card will earn you points that you can redeem. However, the APR is very high and there is little benefit to the card other than the Sunoco points.

Overview:
There are two Sunoco credit cards, both of which give points for every $1 spent on gasoline at Sunoco. The APR is very high, as are the cash advance fees. The Sunoco card can only be used at Sunoco stations while the Plus card will be accepted anywhere Mastercards are accepted.

How This Card Works:

There are two Sunoco credit cards, the Sunoco Rewards card and the Sunoco Rewards Plus card. The Sunoco card works only at Sunoco stations while the Plus card works anywhere Mastercards are accepted. Earn points for every gallon of gas you purchase at Sunoco. You’ll also receive free online bill pay and management with your account.

Travel and Shopping Benefits:
The Sunoco credit card earns 2 points gallon of gasoline purchased at Sunoco, while the Plus card earns 3 points per gallon for the first two purchases per billing cycle and 10 points per gallon on subsequent purchases. You’ll also earn 1 point for every $1 of purchases with your Plus card anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

Fees:
The APR is 23%, with a default rate of 29.99%. Cash advances are subject to a 24.99% APR with a 5% fee, minimum $5. The late fees are: $20 for balances up to $100, $29 for balances between $100 and $500, and $39 for balances above $500.

Pros:

  • Receive points for buying gas at Sunoco
  • 4,700 Sunoco locations
  • No annual fee

Cons:

  • Very high standard APR
  • Very high default rate
