I just closed my Meijer credit card account this morning.

Two months after signing up for paperless statements, I receive an invoice on 17 July 2009, telling me that my balance was due 15 July 2009! I called customer services and found out they have charged me over $60 in late fees and finance charges. They told me they generate a bill every month to my email, yet this is the very first one that I have received. Since I haven't used the card since the last time I paid the balance in full, I just assumed that it's not unusual to not receive new statements.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Just paying up and closing the account, I feel like I am letting them get away with it. Can anyone suggest a way of getting this money back?
