Verdict: A great card for travelers and Harley-Davidson alike. Gives great travel coverage and insurance and earns points toward merchandise and services. Benefits include hotel and motel burglary coverage as well as lost luggage reimbursement if you buy your tickets with the card.

Overview: This card offers tons of bonuses, most of them travel. You get Accidental Death Insurance, hotel theft insurance, and rental car insurance. You also earn rewards toward Harley merchandise and services.

How This Card Works:
When you sign up for this card you automatically receive a $10 Harley-Davidson Chrome Cash certificate, good at an authorized dealer. You are also entered into the H-D Visa Free Ride Sweepstakes in which one person a month receives a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

For every point you spend with this card you earn one point of H-D Rewards. Reaching 2,500 points enables you to cash them in for a $25 certificate good at participating Harley-Davidson locations for merchandise as well as services.

This card allows for automatic payments, and provides 100% fraud protection. You’re also given free online access to your account, along with auto rental insurance and travel accident insurance.

Included is a free picture card if you request it. Simply send in a printed 4×6″ picture with a dark background with your name, social security number and account number on the back to your customer service address and within six weeks you’ll receive your picture card(s).

Travel and Shopping Benefits:
This card is a king of travel benefits, which is what it’s designed for: people on the road.

A benefit of this card is the auto rental collision damage waiver program. If you use the card to pay for any auto rental and decline the collision damage coverage, you’re automatically covered. If you purchase travel tickets with your card your eligible dependents are automatically covered for Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance.

If you qualify for the The Harley-Davidson High Performance Visa Card you’ll receive many travelling benefits, such as hotel and motel burglary coverage. If you pay for a room with your Harley-Davidson card you’re covered up to $1,000 if any of your personal property is stolen.

This card also gives you travel and emergency assistance. If you run into trouble on the road you’re provided with access to services like medical and legal, as well as transportation and more.

The Harley-Davidson High Performance Visa Card also gives you lost luggage reimbursement if you buy your tickets with the card, protecting you up to $5,000. The Harley-Davidson High Performance Visa Card also gives you a warranty management service which combines all your warranties into one place and gives you information on all of them with one phone call. This service also extends your warranty protections automatically, along with the option of extra protection.

This card also earns 1 H-D Reward point for every dollar you put on it. When you reach 2,500 points you can redeem it for a $25 certificate good at authorized Harley-Davidson dealers.

Fees:
There’s no annual fee for the Harley Davidson Visa Card, but the interest rate isn’t the lowest you could find. For the standard Chrome Harley Davidson Visa the APR is 12.65%, and the APR for the High Performance card is 1% lower, with balance transfer of the same amount for each. Other than this difference rates are generally the same for both. Cash advances have a 19.99% variable rate, and the delinquency rate is 27.24%.

Both cards have a 20-25 day grace period. The late fee is $19 for balances for balances under $100.00. For balances between $100.00 and $250.00 the fee is raised to $29. For balances of $250.00 or more, the fee tops out at $39. Cash advances are available at a rate of 3% the transaction amount, with a minimum fee of $10.00.

Pros:

  • There are tons of benefits for travelers.
  • The card earns rewards torward harley merchandise.
  • There’s no annual fee.
  • Complete fraud protection is included.

Cons:

  • These are not the best rates available.
