Verdict: The Ann Taylor Credit Card has an extremely high interest rate, low spending limit, and lacks any additional real benefits other than having an average rewards program. The Discover More card is a much better choice when it comes to saving on apparel. The Discover More card offers up to 5% cash back on apparel stores (like Ann Taylor) and other rotating categories like gas and travel.
How this card works: The Ann Taylor Credit Card is a store card that can be used at any Ann Taylor location. This card is targeted at those who are frequent shoppers at Ann Taylor. Even if you are an Ann Taylor fanatic, chances are you shop elsewhere as well and with this card you will be missing out earning rewards on any purchases at other stores. This is more of a problem with store credit cards in general, but a problem none the less.
It’s worth noting that Ann Taylor does offer a MasterCard version of it’s card that can technically be used at other stores, however the rewards program remains the same, meaning you only earn rewards on purchases made at Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor LOFT.
Fees: This card has no annual fee.
Rewards: This card allows you to earn 5 Style Rewards Points for every dollar you spend at Ann Taylor Stores or online at Ann Taylor. For every $400 you spend (or 2000 style rewards points you earn) you will receive a $20.00 Style Rewards gift certificate which you can use for Ann Taylor purchases. This means you effectively save 5% on purchases you make with your card, assuming you earn enough points tor receive a certificate.
When you first sign up for the card you also get 15% off any purchases you make on the first day with your First Day Discount.
Pros:
- Earn 5 Style Rewards Points for every dollar you spend.
- No Annual Fee.
Cons:
- Extremely High Interest Rate.
- Can Only Be Used at Ann Taylor.
- Other than the rewards program, this card lacks any real benefits.

To Whom I May Concern:-
Customer service representative for the Ann Taylor credit card that I called the number 1-866-730-7902, on March 25, 2010 at around 9:45 am (could be 9:50 am), US Pacific time, was RUDE !
On that day I called twice. The first time was may be 30 mins before that. The first rep was ok. But, the rep. who talked to me for the second time was really RUDE. I asked her if I could change my due date to be the first week of each month to coordinate with my other cards. She raised her voice right away, “NO”. Of course, I didn’t understand why I couldn’t do that because other card companies let me do it. So, I asked her why. She was so upset (really expressed it) and really raised her voice to me, almost shout. Then she tried to enroll me to the card protection program. I learned about it and didn’t want it, so I told her I didn’t want it. She raised her voice to me and tried to push me to enroll it even after I said no. She was in a hurry (from her voice) and said that she would enroll it to me right away. I had to tell her for the second time that I didn’t want it. She was totally upset and raised up the voice (almost shout) again and hung up.
I personally like Ann Taylor and Loft products. The sales reps at stores are always nice and polite. Mangers, supervisors, or whoever at the credit card services, please warn or train these people to be nicer with customers. I’m thinking about closing my account with them, although they offer points or rewards, just because I don’t want to deal with Ann Taylor card customer service reps !!

I put the wrong date about my bad experience with the Ann Taylor Credit Card Rep, on my previous comment. It was on March 23, 2010 (Tuesday) at around 9:45 am (could be 9:50 am), US Pacific time.

This company is very unprofessional. I called to ask why my credit card rate was raised to the maximum and was told they couldn’t explain and that I was asking questions “higher than what they could explain”. They went on to say that was a legal question. Really?! Did I mention this was a supervisor? In addition, I was given a bogus corporate number to voice my complaint. I called it, and it was a random number to a non-profit organization for children. I am closing my account because this is the latest in a string of ridiculous conversations with them. In the past I used to mail my payments and they credited another account for about four months. I couldn’t get anywhere when I called them, they tacked on fees every month and said I hadn’t paid. Finally after writing letters and involving the research department at my bank, they figured out my payments had been credited to another account. I pay my account on time each month, and I have had it for about three years. I do NOT recommend this card. I kept it because I really like the clothes, but I should have closed it a long time ago.

I like Loft. Loft card and M/C representatives are another story.
Stores makes the M/C sound very appealing and advertises as an UPGRADE. It is not an upgrade, its a complete different account. That means, you’ll have to make note of the account number and payee address change especially when you have online bill payment set up through your finanical institution. Make a mistake of sending in your full payement to the previous account on time will get you late fee and interest charge which you’ll have to fight to get reversed and having to deal with the rude customer service.
Told the representative to close my account and she immedately followed with, “OK” and hung up without any further confirmation for cancellation.

I had the same experience with my credit cards as Susan, Took me 3 months, mult. phone calls, hours of my time. I always pay my bills in full. Due to the Ann Taylor accounts my 84.04 bill turned into 118.09 and ruined my credit, I called Corp. and there was no one to speak to regarding this issue. Foget the 10% you save by opening an account. It’s not worth it! I closed my account. Stay away from these CARDS!!!
